• Go for latest generation iPods: Buy the latest generation iPod, if you are tech-savvy and will use the device along its length and breadth. If not, buying the latest mean you are unnecessarily shelling out quite a few bucks!

With quite a few types of iPod available, and each type sporting a different set of features, make your decision depending on your preferences. While the Shuffle, Nano, and Touch iPods are available on the market, the Classic version has been discontinued by Apple.

• Check the functionality: Clarify what are your requirements. With the iPod being modified with each passing generation, it goes without saying that the later the generation, the better will be the performance.

• Check the storage: Opt for a higher storage capacity if you have a large music collection and you want to store photos as well. For an average user, nominal storage is quite enough.

• Go for satisfactory battery Life: Look for a good battery life, if you are an avid music lover and you plan to enjoy your iPod for an entire day at a time.
